Absolute Systems (Pty) Limited, a private South African company founded in 1993, is a provider of application software enabling banks to optimise customer contact channels and manage their customer interactions in an integrated, multi-channel environment.

The Company’s core competencies are vested in the development of highly complex, fault tolerant and secure software solutions that address the rigorous requirements of transactional banking. The company operates offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and in London UK.

It is widely accepted that benefits can be realised by rationalising the service aspects of operating bank ATMs. Given the proliferation of ATMs the average number of transactions per ATM has declined over the past couple of years and hence the viability of operating ATMs.   The key question is how to drive up the average number of transaction per ATM while still maintaining the reach of each bank?  Reduce the number of fixed bank ATMs but provide multi-personality ATM experiences.

A multi-personality shared ATM across more than one bank but providing the banks software capabilities will enable the reduction of the number of ATMs deployed yet still provide each bank with their full transaction set and look and feel.  Absolute Systems enables the shared ATM to render the personality of the card inserted and present the “On Us” customer experience.

AbsoluteINTERACT

A Multi-Vendor terminal software solution based on the XFS standard, which can be used to drive; ATMs, Kiosks, Teller Cash Recyclers, Deposit ATMs, Intelligent Deposit devices etc. The SDK features an extensive modelling tool suite to simplify design, implementation and customisation. Full support for EMV is provided. The product has been licensed to Fiserv Inc.

Surveil Monitoring

An agent based enterprise device and system monitoring and management solution, including a management console called AbsoluteINSIGHT for visualising the state of the network and or systems. The agents can be deployed on any device in the network, include servers, embedded and Linux devices. The product comprises the following modules.

Smart Switching

Two switches have been developed for transactional switching specifically to support:

  • LNC Switch, based on Java technology for non-card transaction
  • Discovery Switch, based on Microsoft technology for long running business processes.

Absolute Systems has developed a high availability APN to connect devices in the field via wireless networks by utilising the Wireless Router/Modem. Traditionally availability on these networks is not good and for transactional purposes it is vital to have reliable communications infrastructure. The system was developed to manage availability and includes full diagnostics that can be remotely accessed. The service includes the rental of the router/modem and the provision of the associated data bundle.

Both the hosting and APN are complete managed services including data centre hosting, 24×7 support helpdesk, and Service Level Agreement reporting. The primary and secondary data centres are both “hot” and run in high availability mode. All hardware in the data centres is owned by the company.

CashVend is an end-to-end solution to load, transfer and pay out funds from mobile wallets. The solution is wallet agnostic and can work with any existing or new wallet solution. This solution can either be licensed or is available as a managed service. The solution comprises the following products:

Optimal Cash Management (OCM) is a Cash deposit automation solution to support the cash life cycle that can be utilised by either a Bank, as a banking product to their corporate depositors or by a CIT operator to offer settlement capabilities to corporate depositors (without them having to change their banking relationship).

The solution is multifaceted with specific support for; the retailer/corporate (depositor), the CIT (Cash In Transit) /Cash centre service provider, third party service providers (1st and 2nd line support) and the Bank. The core of the system is a financial switch enabling secure remote cash deposits 24 x 7 x 365. This solution can either be licensed or is available as a managed service.

AbsoluteCONNECT provides a solution delivering client-specific, full motion, TV quality video advertising to ATMs over traditional networks. The advertising interaction can extend to the mobile phone and the Internet and is targeted to render qualified leads or generate redeemable coupons.
